Trattoria Ardichetto

Catania/Zafferana Etnea

The locals call it a ‘Muntagna’ (the Mountain).  From a height of 3,343 metres of the “gentle giant” you can enjoy the sea view, it is a wonderful show, but at the same time arouses fear.

On the outskirts of the beautiful town of Zafferana, it is a place that knows how to combine its simple elegance to any taste and tradition of the typical Sicilian cuisine.  It is the Trattoria Ardichetto, an unforgettable stop in the long Etna climb.

The symbol of Trattoria Ardichetto is the turtle, renowned for its memory, fidelity and represents fertility, vitality and long life.  In a nice aquarium covered in lava rock you can admire dozens of turtles, distinguished guests of the Gambino family for over 25 years.

For lunch or dinner, surrounded by nature, in a small oasis of warm serenity and pampered by the renowned hospitality of the Gambino family, you will be overwhelmed by the irresistible flavours of Sicily.  All dishes are made using local raw materials, always fresh and that’s why the Trattoria Ardichetto works mainly by reservation.

Every day a complete menu is served, it provides a succession of typical appetisers, one encore of the first course, second course, bread, dessert, fruit, house wine, bottled water, bitter, liqueur and coffee.
