Villa Lampedusa is an example of a beautiful suburban residence, adhering to a concept of court similar to that of the Chinese Casina, the summer residence of the Bourbon King Ferdinand IV. It was founded by Don Isidoro Terrasi in the early eighteenth century. In 1756, architect Giovanni Del Frago carried out some renovation work. The current version is the result of changes made around the end of the century by the Alliata of Villafranca princes. The villa stands out for its stylistic choices and architectural features, such as the pseudo Louis XVI décor, the little pavillion by the double staircase, the frescoes on the main floor, the remarkable work of tempera by Roman painter Gaspare Fumagalli downstairs, the Serpotta stuccos and the frescoed coffered ceilings.
The Resort will captivate you with the noble atmosphere of the elegant rooms created in the old eighteenth-century baglio, surrounded by the Sicilian countryside, and intoxicated by the scent of its citrus and almond trees in bloom. This unique spot inspired the Prince of Lampedusa in his colossal work “Il Gattopardo“, in which the storyline merges with the arts, culture and poetry of the time. Here you can make your own special holiday, full of unforgettable moments, captured by the pristine nature of the villa’s park with its colours and scents.
Villa Lampedusa Hotel & Residence offers cosy rooms and suites of different sizes, furnished with period furniture and marble bathrooms. It is situated in a prime location, close to the city centre, and a few minutes from the beautiful Mondello beach and great sports facilities (Stadio delle Palme, the Tennis Club and municipal Swimming Pool), the Favorita royal park, the Chinese Casina, and set in the Colli area, the location of the finest Palermitan historical homes.
