5 km from S. Angelo Muxaro, typical village identified with the legendary Kamikos, palace of the legendary king of Sicani Kokalos, immersed in a boundless space, reforested with pines and cypresses, in the colours and scents of herbs and broom, is an old farmhouse renovated according to modern living standards and perfectly integrated into the surrounding environment. For the restoration of the structure has been used, in addition to wood and Sicilian bricks, local stone, the sparkling crystalline gypsum, that covers the monumental prospectus, giving it a touch of rustic elegance and recalling the noble origin. The house was in fact owned by a Palermo family of ancient lineage, the Dukes of Pietratagliata, who used it as a summer residence.
Today the structure, equipped with all amenities, contains 5 bright rooms furnished in style (with a total of 15 beds) with heating, air conditioning and TV, a large dining room with TV, computer and internet station, equipment for people with disabilities. A large terrace that juts out over the surrounding hills also becomes, both in summer and in winter, a privileged place of relaxation.
The site, a hill overlooking the river Platani just across Kamikos valley, is particularly impressive. The pure air, unspoilt nature, the silence, the fairy land of mountains and valleys offer unique sensations, bringing almost back in time, to the simple and quiet bucolic world. The climate and vegetation also lead back to the characteristics of the Sicilian environment.
A special atmosphere characterises the town in the evening: the village of S. Angelo, perched on the hill, seen from there magically turns into a crib with its narrow houses and its lights under the thick blanket of stars.
