‘Sotto il Castagno’ is an ideal place to stay for those who are looking to spend a relaxing holiday and love being in the countryside. Located within the nature reserve of Etna Park it is ideal for healthy walks along the many paths and nature trails.
The House consists of a living room with a stunning fireplace. The kitchen is in the traditional Sicilian style and comes with a washing machine, tumble dryer and iron.
The House has two bedrooms, one is a double and the other a twin which can accommodate up to 4 beds. The bathroom has a shower. Bed linen is changed every week and towels every three days.
Breakfast will be prepared on an ad hoc basis according to the customer. Milk, biscuits, tea, coffee, cappuccino, fruit juices, freshly squeezed Sicilian oranges (depending on season), fresh fruit, cakes are always available – The famous, iced-sugar croissants are also on offer for most of the season.
External to the B&B are an orchard and a chestnut wood, both of which are open to the guests. Guests are also encouraged to harvest what the land produces, dependent on the season. There is a play area for younger children including swings, a slide and a 3m paddling pool. Bicycles and larger mountain bikes are provided so our guests can explore the fabulous countryside.
The House also has a stone oven and barbecue and is an ideal place for eating outdoors – perhaps traditional Italian pizza or grilled meats.
It is possible to rent the House for exclusive use.
Sotto il Castagno is 20 min from Catania and the sea. It is advisable to drive.
