Il Gelso e Le Rose has been an home for 30 years and in 2005 became Il Gelso e Le Rose Bed & Breakfast: a quiet place, away from city noise in a great location for day trips in the main centers of eastern Sicily. A familiar, simple and friendly place, it offers tranquility in the countryside with the colours, smells and flavors of the Mediterranean.
We are located in the heart of eastern Sicily, in the countryside, midway between Catania and Siracusa (10km away from the “Lentini” motorway) just a few kilometers far from Carlentini, Lentini and Francofonte. Rich in orange groves, Greek and pre-Greek archaeological sites, and stepeed in Giovanni Verga’s literature.
ROOMS
Two rooms on the ground floor overlooking the garden with separate entrance. The rooms are each equipped with their own bathroom, air conditioning, mini fridge, table and chairs. Parking for cars is in the inner courtyard, near the entrance of the rooms.
Breakfast can be taken in the breakfast room, or when the weather is fine, in the garden. We serve both sweet and savory products and seasonal fruits and on request we can prepare breakfast with gluten-free food.
THE GARDEN
A beautiful mulberry bush, soft-colored roses and fragrant jasmine welcome guests at the entrance of the small courtyard. The house is located in the middle of the countryside of eastern Sicily: surrounded by groves of oranges, tangerines, lemons, almonds, olives, vines, carob, fig, prickly pear and here and there palm trees and nuts. After a busy day you can relax in our garden and children will find plenty of space for their games; adult areas equipped with tables and chairs for pleasant relaxation in the middle of the lawn together with a fully equipped kitchenette with stove, sink, barbecue.
