Opened in 1953, La Giara is the nightclub that offers the sweet life to the Taorminese, an elite event that nobody can forget.
Over the years we have followed the stars of the cinema as Ava Gardner who always danced barefoot, the famous couple Liz Taylor and Richard Burton. Italian star Vittorio Gassman, Sophia Loren and Lollobrigida just to name a few visited La Giara so it gained an international reputation around the world.
Today it is reinterpreted in a modern way and proposed to the public with a totally new look while maintaining a touch of elegance that has always represented the “Leitmotif” of the local symbol of Taormina.
The restaurant business undertaken in the mid-eighties in the sign of taste and style, approached the La Giara, and they received several awards, the most important is the mention in the Michelin guide.
The rooftop terrace offers a view stretching from Etna to the enchanting bay of ancient Naxos until the tip of Augusta.
The restaurant La Giara is in the historical centre and is illuminated by four lamps that draw visitor’s attention to the elegant and original design. Our dishes are born from simplicity and seasonality of raw materials, combining traditional and regional flavours with contemporary cuisine.
