Caffè Europa’s history starts in the late sixties.
At that time it was already an elegant landmark situated at the end of Corso Italia.
It was a place where people used to gather after the theatre or after an afternoon walk.
Caffè Europa stands out immediately for the quality of its gastronomy, cakes and desserts.
In fact, at the time the café employed the famous Sicilian master confectioner Venuti, whose artistry and illustrious name ensured that the Caffè Europa’s reputation spread throughout the rest of Italy.
Years passed by and Caffè Europa continued to be the melting pot of different generations.
A breakthrough came in the ’90s when the owner sold the Café to the Ciro and Giovanni Fichera brothers, who had a strong desire to innovate, while preserving the traditions and quality that have made the historic Café one of the area’s best loved of all time.
In 1995 the Fichera brothers expanded the shop by creating new spaces and new products that quickly attracted more clients.
Caffè Europa boasts a stylish tearoom, a special library where patrons can browse books about Sicily and Catania; a Happy Hour corner for the youngsters, open all afternoon to offer snacks or any kind of delicacy you desire.
Over the decades Caffè Europa has become the place to go for a break, a quick lunch, a cup of tea, a place where clients can count on excellence, quality and hospitality.
